Ted's Fishing Secrets

Here are just a few of the lakes Ted likes to fish on!

Lake Oahe Reservoir

Sprawling Missouri River Reservoir loaded with big walleyes and lots of structure. Spring and early summer is the best time to fish.  Bottom bouncers and live bait work well in 5 to 15 foot of water. Troll crankbaits in deeper water as well.

Francis Case Reservoir

Another Missouri River Reservoir which has numbers of eating size (15 to 19 inch) walleye.Tons of fun to catch limits of walleye by casting 1/8 to ¼ oz. jigs tipped with a minnow or plastic towards the shoreline bluff banks.

Bitter Lake

Glacial Lake in the northeast part of SD.  Casting crankbaits or jig/plastic combo towards the weed lines in Juna and July will produce limits of nice walleye.

Waubay

Another Glacial Lake in the northeast SD.  Excellent fishing year around. Cast the sunken timber with jigs tipped with a minnow for big walleyes.  Low light periods are prime for shallow water fish.

Angostura Reservoir

A beautiful reservoir located in the wester portion of South Dakota.  Fish the main lake points 10 to 15 ft of water with slip sinker rigs/minnows/crawlers in June and July.  Go deeper later in the year.
